Dr Sharif received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2012 from New York University. Prior to that he became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) sanctioned by the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2010 and earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Business and Marketing at the University of Connecticut in 2006. Dr Sharif has been in the health and fitness industry since 2003 when he entered the field as a nationally certified personal trainer, which sparked a passion and resulted in a dramatic change in career path.
Dr Sharif specializes in orthopedics and sports rehabilitation, with years of experience both treating and training a variety of populations including countless professional athletes from the National Football League, National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, Women’s Tennis Association, USA Olympics teams, NCAA college athletes and more. He previously spent 4 years working along side Bommarito Performance Systems and other medical disciplines to assist with NFL Combine preparation and NFL veteran off-season training camps, functioning as the Medical Director of the North Miami Beach professional athlete training facility.
As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Dr Sharif utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to returning athletes to high-level performance through a combination of manual rehabilitative therapy along with strength and conditioning to help patient’s reach their goals and quickly return to sport or activity.
Dr Sharif grew up playing many sports including football, basketball, lacrosse and wresting. Prior to his career in physical therapy, he worked as a strength and conditioning coach specializing in corrective exercise, weight management and performance enhancement since 2003. In addition to his CSCS certification, he previously held NASM-CPT, NASM-CES and AFAA certifications, which all contributed to his well-rounded approach to health and fitness. The combination of his professional experience, history of athletics and love for fitness has led him to a successful and passionate career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
